Making a Career at Brookdale
Suzanne Dyson began her role as business office coordinator at Lenoir Park in Lenoir, N.C., in 2004. However, her first experience with the community was when her grandmother became a resident. When asked about the typical day in the life of a business office coordinator, Suzanne chuckled, “There’s no such thing.”
“A lot of my day is spent serving residents and their family members, as I feel that customer service is my top priority,” said Suzanne, who is also responsible for payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable and resident trust in the community.
“Besides the paperwork and reports that we are required to complete, we also help other departments,” added Suzanne. “I assist with sales and marketing, activities, dining services, housekeeping, and even maintenance, and anywhere else I can pitch in.”
Suzanne praises her fellow associates for inspiring her to work harder. “Working in a team environment was not something I was familiar with before coming to Lenoir Park, but now I count on my teammates to help me to get through my day,” admitted Suzanne. “Their dedication to our residents helps me remember why I work in this community.”
